Job description

Advans International’s Group Impact team is looking for an Impact Officer to join us in Paris as soon as possible. You will join a passionate, multicultural team committed to strengthening and sharing impact practices and know‑how across our subsidiaries.

If you are driven by social and environmental responsibility and innovation and eager to make a meaningful contribution and already have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, this role will allow you to deepen your expertise while creating positive and lasting impact.

Working closely with teams at group level and in our subsidiaries, you will contribute to key strategic topics such as customer protection, climate action and gender initiatives. 

This job is based in the centre of Paris, in the bright 9th arrondissement – with the possibility of remote work 2 days out of 5 per week.


Here is what your job will be about: 
As a member of the Group Impact team, your mission will be to support Advans’ surbsidiaries in defining, strengthening, and implementing their impact strategies — ensuring our financial services generate positive outcomes for clients and contribute to sustainable deveopment in our countries of operation. 


Your key responsibilities will include: 
  • Lead and coordinate projects across priority areas of the Advans Impact Strategy – such as Gender, Climate and Client Protection — acting as the main liaison between grant providers, consultants, and subsidiaries. 
  • Contribute to the development of the group model on capacity building programs / business development services for clients in all Advans markets. 
  • Support the group’s grant mobilisation efforts bu identifyins and monitoring funding opportunities, preparing proposals and budgets, and communicating about Advans’ impact projects and achievements.
  • Oversee the implementation of grant-funded initiatives, ensuring timely, accurate financial and operational reporting to donors. 
  • Ensure the application and continued improvement of Advans’ Environmental & Social (E&S) Policy and Climate Strategy, including the effective rollout of the Social & Environmental Management System and Climate Risk monitoring across the network, and contribute to strengthening E&S governance.
  • Work with local teams and Group departments to ensure operational practices align with the Client Protection Standards and the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management; assess practices and identify key areas for improvement in line with industry standards, as well as support subsidiaries in the Client Protection certification process.
  • Develop and disseminate training materials and awareness resources — both online and offline — on policies and industry initiatives to build staff capacity on E&S topics across subsidiaries, as well as share Advans best practices during webinars and seminars. 
  • Coordinate the production of quaterly and annual Environmental & Social report and dashboards, at both Group & subsidiary levels.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Advans’ outcomes framework, enabling Advans to measure and demonstrate its impact over time.

Required profile

You will be perfect for the job if: 

You have around 3-5 years work experience in banking, financial inclusion, social business or non-governmental organizations and hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, marketing, sustaiable development, environement or any relevent field. 
You are strongly interested in financial inclusion and Advans mission and in Environmental and Social issues. 

In an ideal world, you have: 
  • A strong understanding of environmental and social issues, 
  • An interest in emerging countries and development challenges
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and synthesis skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English and French
  • String project management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and proactively propose new ideas
  • Clear communication & facilitation skills and capacity to work with both internal & external stakeholders.
