Groupe SUNU strengthens its partnership with ADVANS by acquiring a stake in Advans Cameroon

Paris and Douala, April 10, 2025
Following the approval of COBAC (Central African Banking Commission), Groupe SUNU and the pan-African microfinance group Advans are pleased to announce the entry of SUNU Assurances Vie Cameroun into the share capital of Advans Cameroon.

This agreement, built on strong synergies between the microfinance and insurance sectors, marks a significant milestone for the financial institution. It is an opportunity for Advans Cameroon to strengthen its position in the market and increase its impact on the communities it serves.

GroupSUNU Assurances Vie Camerounbecomes a shareholdr of Advans Cameroon with 24.88% of the capital. Advans SA SICAR, Advans Group’s holding company remains the majority shareholder of the Cameroonian institution.

This alliance reinforces a strategic partnership initiated in Côte d’Ivoire. In December 2021, SUNU Assurances Vie Côte d’Ivoire acquired 10% of Advans Côte d’Ivoire’s capital. This partnership led to the launching of insurance products such as Soutra, Hospit, Agrissur, and Oukalé—funeral and hospitalization insurance products that have already been adopted by over 35,700 Advans Côte d’Ivoire clients.

Finally, Advans Congo, Advans’ subsidiary in the DRC, and Groupe SUNU are jointly exploring the possibility of launching insurance products for Advans’s local clientele.
